Our good friends over at Inside the Rockies have locked down their site after 3 amazing years. While one can still read past reports, posts and comments, there will be no more stories coming from the three founders: Tracy Ringolsby, Jack Etkin and Steve Foster. Tracy, Jack and Steve created Inside the Rockies in 2009, after the Rocky Mountain News closed up shop. They worked hard to bring Rockies news and reports alive with each of their many talents, and reading their posts and comments was daily manna for those that wake up each day, dreaming of our beloved team. We truly appreciates the countless hours they devoted to keeping us informed, and their inside knowledge of the team will be extremely hard to replace. We can only hope they will swing by from time to time to bring us the great news and scoops we’ve come to love.

I didn’t get a chance to leave my final thoughts on the ITR website, so this thank you to the Big 3 will have to do. Guys, we all loved your efforts in creating a wonderful place to gather online and share our absolute love for the Rockies and baseball in general. You will be sorely missed. We can only hope that you choose to occasionally share your talents and vision with us in the future on this new and promising site.

Thanks to the three founders, all ITR posters and the total community that grew out of humble beginnings. There have always been some great discussions and I look forward to that continuing here. So, again thanks for a wonderful three year run, and thanks to Jaredean for this wonderful extension so the ITR community can continue to flourish. Hope to see Tracy, Jack, and Steve stop by from time to time.

And also to keep on subject, Many thanks to the Cowboy and Jack. But especially to Steve, who did all the day to day work to post the daily lineups, to ensure the site was spam free, kept it nice, kept it clean, kept it on subject, updates to the software, etc. Not an easy task.

I didn’t post much last season, but I’m glad to see that the community will continue under this site, which looks awesome. The best part of the Inside the Rockies was the conversation–always smart and thoughtful, never offensive or insulting the way some other sites can be. Looking forward to another, let’s hope better year for the Rockies!
