Coming off a perfect four innings of mound work last Thursday, Jamie Moyer entered today’s game with a 1.0 ERA. He left after four, giving up seven hits and three earned, raising his ERA to 2.77. His crafty mound work wasn’t fooling many White Sox hitters. He also issued three walks and hit the lead-off batter, something that we haven’t seen much of this Spring. If Chatwood thought Moyer left the door open at all, he effectively closed it with his eight hit, four runs in four outting against the Cubs AAA team.
Betancourt is still having a difficult time, loading the bases in the eighth on two walks and a single.
Wilin Rosario and the sixth inning proved to be a major highlight for the Rockies, as the team put together a very impressive little run (all with 2 outs):
- Wilin double
- dex/herrera get out
- CarGo double (1 RBI)
- Giambi walk (CarGo steal)
- Helton double (1 RBI)
- Cuddyer single (2 RBI)
- Pacheco double (1 RBI)
- Nelson walk
- Rosario single (1 RBI)

HA HA!! You bet!!
Moyer isn’t fooling anyone so far…too bad after his last outing. Hopefully he settles down.
I posted it up above, but wanted to say here in the comments – today is TJ’s 40th Birthday and he is at the game with EdTheUmp…he is the one sending me pics for this post…
HAPPY 40th TJ!!!!
Good way to spend the 40th TJ!!! sitting with Ed in those great seats..thx for the pics
wow, strike-outs or HR’s…Dex is Yin/Yang man!!!
Dexter goes deep!..Rosario still swinging the hot bat….3-2 Sox
Has anyone else noticed that the second Blake was traded, Pacheco has gone 0 for his last 5………..
not any more – one run double for him in 6th…plus stole a base on a wild pitch, which is nice to see…
wow! i walk away for a few minutes and we WAKE UP!!! I love this inning!!!
what a 6th inning…that was fun to listen to…
nice inning…minus mr. fowler.
nice to see them get some hits in combination.
very nice – 6 runs is putting something together!
Nice inning, except for two outs by Dex.
Is it just me, or is Jerry Schemmel sounding much more relaxed and fluid this spring? When he first joined the broadcast crew he sounded very uncomfortable, as though he was thinking too hard about what he was saying. Definite improvement, IMO.
I notice that when Jerry is providing “color” commentary he doesn’t sound as relaxed as when he is in charge of the play-by-play calls…the DJ in me would assume that as he is behind the mic talking more (play-by-play) he gets more and more comfortable, but I don’t listen to him a ton because i’m usually watching the games on TV…I only catch the radio broadcasts during Spring Training or whenever the game isn’t on TV (or i’m camping
)
I have mlbtv.com at home and when I’m in a hotel. XM radio in my car gives me my fix in the car.
The Rox take Dinger along to Spring Training?? What…does he/she have to get in game-shape, as well?
they actually had 2 or 3 different guys down there posing as Dinger. The “real” one was back in Denver except for a few days with some customers.
What’s up with Betancourt? Two walks? From the box score, it looks like he was pulled after 1/3 of an inning.
Didn’t get to see or hear the game.
Robba, if memory serves (and I was chatting a lot, so I may not be 100% accurate) He had the bases loaded before he gave up an out…consisting of at list one hit and then I remember a walk to fill the bases. That inning seemed to last forever before we got an out.
Jaredean,
Thanks for the Bday greeting and yes, it was a great, fun day. Ed’s a great guy and fantastic to talk baseball with. As my wife told me when I got home…”sounds like you guys geeked out on baseball!”…yep. Especially the 6th inning rally—all with 2 outs!
Thanks again Ed for finding me a ticket-money well spent!
Go Rockies!
TJ and I had a very nice time discussing the Rox in particular and baseball in general.
Good people at RoxWalkOff as I’ve met DrRockies, Bat Girl and TJ in Phoenix this spring. Thanks to the Hurculian(sp?)effort of our new leader, the site is fast becoming, dare I say it, approaching Steve’s brilliance as he, Jack and Tracy did at Inside the Rockies.
Now if we can just approach a modicum of success from our Rockies this season, this site should afford a very lively, informative and yes, even inspiring, season of postings.
Just a short week away now….come on April 6!!
Jaredean,As I asked once before-any chance for a link to the box score for each game?I know I can go to another site, but don’t want to leave RWO when I have stupid comments to make!Since I don’t listen on the radio,it would help an old guy get an idea of what happened, whose hot, etc. The sites great so this is a minor issue in the great scheme of things.Thanks.
Gary, I haven’t forgotten at all and have been working on a solution. I’ve contacted several companies that make up to the minute ones (which would be my preference) but they cost several hundered per month. I want to find a solution, but don’t have that kind of money at all.
So I think I found a way to make it work, but it will take some programming. I found where the MLB keeps their data for each game, but it is in a format that needs to be translated for the page. So I am working on that but it’s taking more time than I thought. I still want to have it ready for opening day…. Stay tuned!
Please, please, please, don’t spend money[I'm unable to donate],and don’t take time from your family[or any more time],just for this old fart’s request.I can hop to S.I.’s site or wait for my 4:45am copy of the post! It already sounds way too complicated, and it was just a suggestion.
Trust me Gary, I’ve had the desire to have line/box scores as an option on the “game pages” since before I created the site, just didn’t know how difficult it would turn out to be…your requests just help me realize I’m not the only one that would like to have them…i wont be spending $100′s a month for something (can’t afford to even if i wanted to)…i have several “irons in the fire” from developing something to getting something much cheaper per month…it is a key component in what I hope will be a very robust game-day experience…
my wife loves that i’ve built and am working on this site – she is a big fan of baseball (see “contact” link above to read about her “allegiance” though) and an even bigger fan of me, so she doesn’t mind the hours i put into it, knowing it is something I enjoy doing…
Is it kosher to just link to ESPN’s box score?
To just have a link you have to click to follow, or pull the data from them into our page?
Just a link = easy, but pretty much worthless
Pull data = violation of some law or other
U da man!Keep telling you how great the site is already! If it can be done great.Just save money and have a life.
