Alex White and Christian Friedrich will both take the mound this week against the San Diego Padres. White will start tomorrow with Friedrich getting the start on Wednesday.
Tonight it will be Drew Pomeranz, White’s Indians mate that came over in the Ubaldo trade.
The team would like nothing more than to put the Braves behind them, and who better to take out their frustrations on than a team they have traditionally had very good success against – The Padres. The Rockies have a 41-32 record at Petco, one of only three parks they have a winning record at, the other two being Nationals Park (10 – 3) and Citi Field (6 – 5).
Jordan Pacheco will get the start at 3rd tonight, hitting second in the lineup.

Go get em Pacheco!
THANK YOU JEEM!!! You not only did a wonderful job over the weekend, giving me a little time off to relax with my amazing wife, but you “raised the bar” – now i gotta step it up (hence, the colored lineups!)
LOL….yup, sometimes it gets you in trouble turning over control for a period.
Thx JD. Glad ye had a good time + are back. Woke up this am + thought “oops’” but here you are. Unfortunately the Rocks continue to stink it up. But it will be interesting to see these new arms. Any news if there’s more to the Pomeranz exit than that liner?
All I’ve seen is that it was a stiff right knee from the line-drive…
You know, I personally believe that it was a “reverse beaning” by Volquez…Drew gets a HR and Volquez decides that it is too “old school” to throw at him – so he hits him with a line-drive!
Hernandez was scratched from the lineup a few minutes ago…not sure why

Just a thought, we should flop the pen and the rotation. Since the starters can’t go more than a few innings, we should make the starters move to the bullpen. And the bullpen is getting pretty stretched out from all the innings they’ve been pitching, so they can be the starters.
Like I said, just a thought….
trip, i like that idea…thinking out of the box…
come join us on chat…you’ve earned it
Tony LaRussa used to flip starters and relievers pretty frequently. Sometimes it’s worth a try. Roenicke would be a candidate for that. And Esmil, but right now I don’t care to think about that …
I’ll say the same thing about Esmil as I said about Franklin Morales. He’s either dominating or horrible. 50/50 chance at either.
So, wouldn’t you like a pitcher like that to only pitch once every 5 games than one who pitches 3 out of 5?
