It looks like Tyler Colvin is being given an opportunity to prove that he should start over Dexter Fowler if you read between Jim Tracy’s lines:
He’s done a wonderful job in whatever capacity we have called upon him…We have got quality at-bats from him as a starter and he’s done a terrific job as a left-handed pinch hitter coming off the bench. You have to get him out there tonight. He’s pushing the envelope for more time. When a player does that, you have to be mindful of it and create additional opportunities for him to play…We are doing what’s in his best interest, and in the baseball team’s best interest, in getting him additional opportunities.
While Fowler continues to struggle, with his average sitting at .223 and his OBP at .311, it isn’t any wonder Colvin is poised to take over at center. Colvin is hitting .314 in 51 at-bats

If there is any of the 3 games that is winnable, tonight is the game…Harang is 0-3 against the Rockies in his last 4, with a 7.94 ERA.
De La Rosa’s start not so great so far…he gave up 4 runs in the first…
Dexter needs to be released. No one will take him in a trade. We should have traded him when we (well at least I) knew he couldn’t hit big league pitching three years ago!
Goose, really? One of the best CF defenders in MLB has no trade value? I know you are not a fan of Dex, but that is pretty harsh.
You already know what I’m going to say … it has something to do with Colvin and his impressive 51 at bats, roughly a good 2 weeks …
He’s now had 52 good at bats!
Sorry – Chat is late but live now!
And you know what I’m going to say. Watch both players and you just know Colvin is the better baseball player. I’ll go with the better baseball player. You go with your stats.
alrighty then … what to say about the game? Nicasio is the real deal … ahhh it looked like Larry King was having a good time socializing with everyone?
