In a surprising move, especially after the Rockies have had two days off in less than a week, Carlos Gonzalez is not in the lineup. According to Renck, he spoke with CarGo about the day off:
Talked to CarGo. He’s just getting a day off. Wants to play but trying to be proactive here.
Tyler Colvin will slide over to left to fill the void as Dex will take over at center. Colvin has also moved down in the lineup to hit third, which makes sense given his power at the plate being better suited in CarGo’s spot.
On the mound will be Outman, hoping to stop the six game losing streak. The Rockies pitching staff have an embarassing 14.23 ERA during the current six game losing streak and this is the second such streak this season.
