2013 Rockies Schedule Released

The 2013 schedule has been released with the Rockies opening on April 1st in Milwaukee against the Brewers.  The home opener will be on Friday, the 4th against he Padres.  It has been announced that MLB interleague games will be scheduled for nearly every day in 2013.

Some of the key interleague matchups the Rockies will face are the Red Sox and Yankees.  The first interleague match-up will be against the Rays from May 3rd – 5th and then the Yankees from the 7th – 9th of May.

Looks like the Astros will be our interleague “natural/traditional” rival. Not exciting, but probably a lucky draw compared to the others in our division.

For those with Guys Night Out ticket packages, it looks like we will have only ten games in 2013 on Tuesday night. The Montforts are likely to take out the Yanks and Bosox out of our package for Tuesday night games, otherwise it’s 12 games that is the norm for GNO ticket holders.

Why the hell is there an inter-league game at the end of September??????????

There has to be an inter-league game every day, so some teams will have to play regardless if it’s April or Sept.

In the past interleague games were condensed to just a few weeks during the season when almost all teams played someone outside of their league. The change this coming season (and for the foreseeable future) is that almost every day someone will be playing an interleague game…so you will see interleague in April through September, with the Rockies playing interleague at various “strange” times during the season…for example: Rays from May 3-5 Yankees from May 7-9 Red Sox Sept. 24-25… Read more »

Wow i completely missed the 2013 interleague announcement I guess. Interleague play is fun to watch, but opening day to the end of the season? That’s ridiculous.

Not sure you caught it, but the Astros moved to the AL West so that all divisions now have 5 teams and thus (theoretically) an equal chance to make the playoffs. The NL Central used to have 6 and the AL West had 4. In order for the schedule to work and not have 1 team in each league sitting around doing nothing for 3 days they set the schedule so that there will always be at least 1 interleague… Read more »
