Kidney Stone 1 – sdcarp 0

Today was supposed to be a Rockies and DBacks minor league morning then Indians and Rockies game complete with a RMH and Ed the Ump check-in.

Instead, excruciating pain that see-in around midnight lead to a night and day in the ER at St Jo’s Hospital with a concoction of torredal, dilaudid, and various other goodies. The Stone won! No mas, no mas!

It’s my second Stone battle. I’m familiar with the process. The folks at the Hospital were great. With any luck at all, I’ll be on the Milwaukee practice fields tomorrow AM.

Ouch, Carp! I’ve been there myself on a couple occasions … absolutely excruciating. That’s why a few years ago when the Rox said Miguel Olivo caught a game while passing a kidney stone I called b.s on it. No way you can do anything but writhe in pain if its a significant one … Arizona dehydration will do that to you …

Well, spring training has looked promising enough (from a distance for me) so far, but then you hit mid-March and a good team letting its starters play and letting Clayton Kershaw go 5 innings, and suddenly the truth hits me like a sucker punch from a 78 year old Trump supporter …

A couple of random observations; Cardinals pitcher Marco Gonzalez – oft mentioned in potential Cargo deals but not deemed “worthy” by most Rox fans (not that it matters) had 6Ks today and seems to be over the shoulder fatigue he struggled with late last season. He doesn’t have a spot in their rotation. He may be as low as #8 (a testament to their SP strength). The Cards now need a SS….and are flirting with the DBacks Nick Ahmed (who… Read more »

So, with another crushing performance by Story, would the Rox still keep him in the minors to open the season?

Watching this one (did you know it was televised?) on DVR right now. Chatty looked pretty sharp. Butler, not as bad as the stat line would suggest. Story looks ready … Let the kid play!
